Matthew Lavelle has a background in ecological economics, with a speciality in systems thinking and more broadly, sustainable scale, fair distribution and efficient allocation. His dissertation focused on the valuation of ecosystem services, in particular that of zoonoses regulation, which he worked on in conjunction with the World Bank.

Before joining BeZero, Matthew was an Energy Specialist at Bulb specialising in renewable energy.
