Dr John Jairo Sandoval Cobo oversees BeZero’s methodologies for technology-based carbon ratings drawing on years of experience assessing carbon projects under CDM/VCM programs and methodologies, and analysis of carbon inventories and emission reductions. As part of his consultancy and research work, he also led the preparation of proposals on behalf of consultancy firms, environmental NGOs, and university research groups in Colombia and overseas (United Kingdom, USA). More recently, he also successfully finished a PhD focused on the evaluation of management alternatives for landfills and related carbon mitigation activities within the energy and waste management sectoral scopes, including laboratory/field data gathering and the analysis of environmental impacts and carbon accounting methodologies.
Prior to BeZero, John developed methodologies for accelerating carbon reduction/removal projects and implemented energy transition and industrial decarbonisation initiatives under compliance and voluntary programs. His PhD work focused on evaluating landfill management alternatives.
