National Environment Agency appoints BeZero Carbon as carbon ratings partner and platform provider to support high-integrity carbon markets
Global carbon ratings agency BeZero Carbon has been appointed as the platform partner and carbon ratings provider to the National Environment Agency of Singapore.
The partnership will provide independent assessments of carbon credit projects and methodologies alongside access to BeZero’s platform of over 600 ratings, helping to strengthen environmental integrity and build market confidence.
The collaboration reinforces Singapore’s position as a regional hub for high-quality carbon services, supporting its International Carbon Credits (ICC) Framework and net zero ambition.
Global carbon ratings agency BeZero Carbon announces that it has been appointed as the platform partner and carbon ratings provider to the National Environment Agency (NEA) of Singapore as part of its efforts to strengthen the integrity and transparency of carbon markets.
Under this partnership, BeZero Carbon will serve as both the carbon ratings platform provider and a carbon ratings partner to NEA. Together, the organisations will support the growth of high-quality carbon markets both in Singapore and beyond.
The collaboration supports Singapore’s environmental integrity assessment of carbon credits. International Carbon Credits are one of the pathways for achieving the nation's 2030 Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and 2050 net zero target.
As of October 2025, Singapore has signed Implementation Agreements with 10 countries for the generation and trade of carbon credits under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. This partnership with BeZero Carbon will help strengthen Singapore’s ability to assess the quality of these credits, ensuring that only projects meeting the required environmental integrity standards contribute to its climate commitments.
This appointment follows NEA’s recent tender for ‘Provision of Carbon Credits Ratings Services’, which aims to enhance environmental integrity assessments as Singapore develops its role as a regional carbon services hub.
Tommy Ricketts, CEO and Co-founder of BeZero Carbon, said: “We are honoured to partner with the Singapore Government in advancing the next generation of high-integrity carbon markets. This partnership brings together BeZero Carbon’s independent ratings expertise and NEA’s leadership in carbon markets regulations. As both a ratings platform provider and a ratings provider, we look forward to helping market participants access transparent, science-based assessments that underpin confidence and drive meaningful climate impact.”
