Cookstove CCP labels update: more methodologies put into the eligibility mixer

  • Earlier versions (v.2-3.1) of the Technologies and Practices to Displace Decentralized Thermal Energy Consumption (TPDDTEC) methodology have now been accepted for CCP labels, following already accepted v4.0. As before, projects must also use specific fNRB values and apply specific fuel consumption tests, and charcoal emission factors and conversion ratios. 

  • Despite this eligibility expansion, there are still no ex post cookstove carbon credits meeting these eligibility criteria on the market.

  • Projects employing the earlier version of the TPDDTEC methodology but not eligible for CCP labels due to other criteria have BeZero Carbon Ratings ranging from ‘BB’ to ‘C’.
