Toby Grammaticas has a BSc in Biological Sciences (Plant Science) from Edinburgh University and an MSc in Plant Biotechnology and Enterprise from Durham University. His dissertation research includes biochar assisted phytoremediation of heavy metal contaminated soil and validating molecular methodologies for understanding the relatively understudied green seaweeds.
Before starting at BeZero, Toby completed an internship at a rewilding organisation delivering biodiversity and carbon credits. He assisted with their data strategy and baseline reporting. Other relevant work includes his time at an agricultural technology startup in Kenya using remote sensing data to generate actionable insights for horticultural farms.
