Dr James Hammerton is an engineer specialising in biomass processing with a particular focus on thermochemical valorisation for the production of biochar, fuels and chemicals.

Before joining BeZero, he worked in Innovation for Drax and as a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds, exploring the integration of biomass power generation into resilient microgrids and the hydrothermal conversion of woody biomass to platform chemicals.
